Cotacachi is a town in the Andes to the north of Quito, Ecuador. The town has a tradition of many fiestas or festivals; here a group of dancers heads down the main street towards the distant mountain to celebrate the arrival of spring. Vibrant and full of color, this image sums up the friendly, cheerful nature of the town's inhabitants.
The original photograph has been given a watercolor effect using Topaz filters and blended with texture layers and a frame to give it a more painterly feel.
