This cameo image is ideal as a greeting card and is designed specifically with Christmas or the winter holiday season in mind, although it would also make a lovely note card. Viewed from a back yard, the picket fence piled high with snow, the steeple, or bell tower, of Trinity Episcopal Church is framed by local rooftops and tree branches as the winter sunshine brightens the scene. The green ivy-clad tree branch and the red border lend a distinctly seasonal feel to the image, which has had the texture of a frosted window blended over the top.

Trinity Episcopal Church was consecrated in 1859, and was the only church in Shepherdstown, WV not to be converted into a hospital for the wounded following the Battle of Antietam at neighboring Sharpsburg, MD on September 17, 1862. Instead this building provided a refuge for the spiritual health of townsfolk and soldiers alike in those troubled times. With all the able-bodied men away at war, it fell to the women, children and elderly of this small town to tend to the thousands of wounded and dying men and boys who crossed the Potomac River to escape the field of the bloodiest single day in US history.
